Product - AGOSTINO RECCA Marinated White Anchovy Fillets arrived with the packing material totally oil soaked. Most of the liquid in the jar had leaked out, indicating that the seal was compromised. Sadly, I was forced to dispose of the product. An email to the vendor has, so far, gone unanswered, UPDATE: They are slow to respond, but they are communicating. I sent a dozen photos showing the oil soaked packing material and the oil stained box, that was way too big for the jar of anchovies that was bouncing around in there even though the jar itself was bubble wrapped. Now, the vendor is withholding a refund as hostage in exchange for deleting a negative review. It's always good to know who you're dealing with. Cheers! You can keep my $30. SECOND UPDATE: Vendor "clarifies" that they typically respond within 1-2 hours. In this instance, the response was more like 20 hours later - I also have a record of our communications. They also want to make clear that they would never ask a customer to remove or change a review in exchange for a refund or resolution. Here is a "cut and pasted" quote from their e-mail to me: "I must inform you that your claim case has been temporarily suspended. This action was taken following a review indicating that we are not responding to or working with you to resolve this matter. Because we have been actively communicating and working to process your claim for the damaged Agostino Recca anchovies, we must pause the internal investigation while this review is addressed. We remain committed to resolving this issue once the status of the review has been clarified." I do hope that this information "clarifies" what's happening here. It's interesting to me that the focus of their rhetoric is about what I've posted as my legitimate experience, with no concern about their packing and shipping failure that has caused the issue in the first place.

I couldn't be happier with my experience! The shipping was incredibly fast and everything arrived perfectly packaged and in excellent condition. What I love most is the amazing variety of authentic Italian products available. Living in America, it's not always easy to find the flavors and brands I grew up with, but this site truly brings a taste of Italy right to my doorstep. Every order makes me feel a little closer to home, and the quality of the products is outstanding. If you're an Italian living abroad or simply someone who loves genuine Italian food and products, I highly recommend this website. Everything came nicely packaged without any damage, no broken cookies etc. Which was a relief especially since the order had to travel from San Diego to the East Coast. I love San Giuliano's Roasted Artichoke Hearts. I used to be able to purchase them in my local grocery store in Fallbrook, but sadly they don't carry them any longer. These are the BEST artichoke hearts ever! I was thrilled to find them online at Pinocchio's Pantry - Authentic Italian Food in nearby San Diego. I ordered four jars and they shipped them right away. I appreciated the prompt shipping, but was even more pleased to find how nicely they were packaged. I was concerned I would find styrofoam peanuts upon opening the box. I despise packaging peanuts -- so messy and awful to get rid of. Anyway, I was delighted to see this nice brown paper packing and that each jar was individually bubble wrapped. I so appreciate the thoughtul and effective packaging. I will definitely shop at Pinocchio's Pantry again and highly recommend this great Authentic Italian Food store.

Updated 2026-08-04 after approximately 2 weeks: Wow that took a while. Nicely crafted what looks like AI generated sycophantic slop response which is completely evasive and meaningless and fails to address the initial issue completely. At least the posted hours now show the pickup times as different when from when they are "open", but I can't blame this business, I blame Google for sucking up to businesses and compromising any standards in order to gain ad revenue. At least the change in hours is a potential warning to people thinking they can just show up at 2:00 in the morning to buy something at a store. Original review: This company has wasted enough of my time tonight that I'm going to write them a bad review. As a Level 7 Local Google Guide I'm fairly familiar with the general Google policy that listings on Google Maps need to represent a physical location people can go to with a public reception area where people can come and do business during listed business hours. I decided to look for a 24-hour grocery / convenience store where I could go get food and beverages and things. Lo and behold this place pops up as Open 24 Hours. It is not. This is primarily an online unattended website business for ordering their products. Their "24/7 support" means you can call their phone number or leave an email "24/7" which will be replied to within 48 hours. Per their AI phone IVR system, their phone support is from Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. However, those are still not hours you can go shop at a physical storefront. In fact the only time that they are open for customers is for the customers to pick up orders they have already made online, and only Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. So really, they're only open for prescheduled pickups 3 hours a day every weekday, and there is no indication you can do any shopping at the physical store. Worse yet they seem to have bribed or bamboozled somebody at Google into locking their posted hours down. I can normally at least submit an edit, I wasn't even allowed to do that. So I filed a Google Business Redressal Complaint regarding their deceiving customers by posting inaccurate hours. We'll see how that turns out. Otherwise it sounds like an interesting business model, but if I drive down there in the middle of the night, and they aren't open for me to shop, I may just mark the business as "Not Open To The Public."

Excellent products, everything was there and in great shape they did a great job overall, the one small complaint is the photo on website shows pane carasau with rosemary and olive oil but the actual product is just with olive oil. No problem I will put some on my own. Thanks Vincenzo and your staff for having a wonderful store with italian goods!

We ordered a bunch of pantry items including a couple of large glass jars of pureed tomatoes. Everything arrived intact, as the items were incredibly well packed and protected. Pinocchio's Pantry has a great selection of Italian food reasonably priced. So we will order again.

First a very large thank you to Pinocchio's Pantry for the excellent packing and speedy delivery and the quality of the products you provide. I live in an absolute wasteland of zero Italian shops/bakeries where I can shop, and now that I have found you (I won't be using the shop I have in the past) life is Italian again, as it should be!!! Beautiful products, a familiar taste of home and now my kitchen smells like Nonna's kitchen again. Thank you so much.
